１９６１年福岡生まれ

セツモードセミナーでファインアート、筑波大学芸術専門学群で建築デザインを学ぶ。

学生時代よりファッションデザイナーとして活動。

１９８３年に株式会社ジュンより”C.C.”ブランドをローンチ。

１９８４年デザイン事務所「チトセ　スタジオ」設立

同年株式会社エルカ販売より「Alpha Guire」をローンチ、株式会社ブルーベルサカタよりシューズブランド「Prefere」をローンチ。以降フリーランスのデザイナーとしてJUN EX、イッセイ・ミヤケ、ハナエモリ・インターナショナル、やまもと寛斎等、東京、パリ、ニューヨークのコレクション参加メゾン数社にアクセサリー（靴、バッグなど皮革とゴム製品等）のデザイン提供、コレクションサンプルの製作を行う。３ヶ月で市場での寿命を迎えるファッションビジネスに疑問を感じ、映画のプロモーション、ファインアートの製作、音楽活動、建築と模索を続けるうち、徐々に仕事を建築デザインへとシフトしていき建築分野では「INTERSCALE INC」の屋号を使い始める。

１９８８年より設計事務所に入社。主にフランス人建築家Jean-Michel Wilmotteのデザイン提携業務とフランス企業の日本進出に際しての店舗開発を担当。

１９９３年東京　南麻布でインタースケール有限会社を設立。屋号を「インタースケール建築設計事務所」とする。代表取締役に就任。

（社）日本建築学会正会員。この頃よりドイツの哲学者マルティン・ハイデガーに傾倒し、恩師である長澤節先生の教えに背きアンチアカデミックからアカデミックへと傾倒していく。「実存する空間と実存していた空間の差異」をテーマにランドスケープ、建築、インテリア、家具デザインの各分野で活動する。「第１回フランス映画祭横浜’９３」の会場構成を皮切りに多くのフランス企業等の商業建築を手掛ける。また、１９９４年 「我は”泉”に立つ 島剛展」、「未来の記憶 イスラエル現代美術展」 のライティングデザインを担当した縁で佐賀町エキジビット・スペースの小池一子氏、イスラエルのBelu-Simion Fainaru氏、Dani Karavan氏、Gil Percal氏らと知り合い、現代美術について多くを学ぶ。１９９６年　佐賀町エキジビット・スペースにおける「ダニ・カラヴァン展　空　水はそこに」ではライティングデザインとテクニカルコンサルタントを担当した。

１９９９年　パリに移転。建築家Gil Percal氏とのパートナーシップのもと、Dani Karavan氏のプロジェクトの３DCGとドローイング、数多くの住宅のプロジェクト、アーティスト（Raffi Kaizer, Tobias Trutwin, Francine Frandrin等）とのコラボレーションを行う。

２００１年９月１１日　アメリカで同時多発テロ事件が起きる。

２００２年　日本に帰国。池袋に事務所を構える。商業建築、マンションなどを多く手がける。

２０１２年から外注に頼らず自己完結したクリエーションを目指し平面作品と立体の皮革製品をハンドソーンで造り始める。

２０１４年　中野に移転。

２０２１年　東京　立川市に移転。彫刻作品を造り始める。

About Hiroshi Chitose

Born in Fukuoka in 1961

He studied Fine Art at  Setsu Mode Seminar and Architectural Design at University of Tsukuba, School of Art and Design.

Since he was a student, he has been active as a Fashion Designer in Tokyo.

Launched in 1983 with "C.C." brand from Jun Co., Ltd.

1984 Established his own Design Office "Chitose Studio” in Minami-Azabu, Tokyo.

In the same year, he launched "Alpha Guire" from Elka Co., Ltd. and the shoe brand "Prefere" from Blue Bell Sakata Co., Ltd.

Since then, as a freelance designer for JUN EX, Issey Miyake, Hanae mori International, Kansai Yamamoto, etc. have provided design and collection of accessories (leather and rubber products such as shoes and bags) to several Maisons participating in the collection in Tokyo, Paris and New York. Made collection samples and Products.

He was skeptical of the fashion business, which will reach the end of its life in the market in three months, and as he continued to promote movies, produce fine artists, music activities, and explore architecture, he gradually shifted his work to architectural design. In the field, start using the name of “Interscale Inc”.

He joined the design office in 1988. He is mainly in charge of design tie-up work for French Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and store development for French companies expanding into Japan.

1993 Established Interscale Inc. in Minami-Azabu, Tokyo. The company name is "Interscale Inc Architect and Associates". He becomes the President.

A Member of the Architectural Institute of Japan. 

From around this time, he devoted himself to Martin Heidegger, German philosopher and disobeyed the teachings of Professor Setsu Nagasawa, devoting himself from anti-academic to academic.

He was active in the fields of landscape, architecture, interior and furniture design under the theme of "difference between existing space and existing space". He has been involved in commercial architecture for many French companies, starting with the venue composition of the "1st French Film Festival Yokohama '93". 

In 1994, We was in charge of the lighting design for “Exhibitions : I am standing at the Fountain : Tsuyoshi Shima” and "Memories of the Future: Israeli Contemporary Art Exhibition” at Saga-cho Exhibit Space. Met Mrs. Kazuko Koike : Director of Saga-cho Exhibit Space, Mr. Belu-Simion Fainaru, Mr. Dani Karavan, Mr. Gil Percal and others in Israeli Artists, and learned a lot about contemporary art. And we also did lighting design and technical consulting for the “Dani Karavan Exhibition : SKY WATER THERE”. at Saga-cho Exhibit Space in 1996.

In December 1999 Hiroshi Chitose moved alone to Paris. In partnership with Architect Gil Percal, did collaborate with Dani Karavan's 3DCG and drawings, numerous housing projects and collaborated with artists (Mr. Raffi Kaizer, Mr. Tobias Trutwin, Mdm Francine Frandrin, etc.) for them technical consulting.

2001 September 11 attacks occurred in the United States.

In 2002, Returned to Japan. He reopened the Interscale Inc. Architect & Associates in Ikebukuro, Tokyo and is involved in many Boutiques, Commercial Buildings and Condominiums.

From around 2012, he started making flat art works as a self-contained creation without relying on outsourcing, and at the same time started making hand-sewn three-dimensional leather products.

In 2014, he moved to Nakano, Tokyo.

In 2021, he moved to Tachikawa-city, Tokyo. Changed the Company name to "Interscale inc." and started making Sculptures.
