MULTIPLICATION    増殖 光の彫刻

「産めよ、増やせよ、地に満ちよ」{創世記 1：28]

作品のモチーフは「花蕾」です。作品は花蕾を生ける事に始まります。それらはとても無垢な存在であり、ただ繁殖のみを目的とした植物の生殖器である雄蕊と雌蕊を内に秘め、それはやがて開花し受粉の時を迎えます。 開花した花はその魅力的な色彩と甘い芳香で昆虫を誘き寄せ(香水に薔薇の香料が用いられる事は決して偶然ではないでしょう。)花の蜜を提供する事によって受粉の機会を得ます。それは、人智を超えた「無垢のエロティシズム」とでも言い表せる事かと思います。「無垢のエロティシズム」とは、肉体を超え人間の深層心理に潜む自分自身に内存する「エロス」を求めて止まない欲望であり、生命であり、愛であり、人智であり、美意識といったものであり、その終局にあるのが、「タナトス（すなわち死）」である。デジタル化された花蕾は、その平面宇宙観の中で増殖します。その増殖はループを繰り返して無限宇宙へと繋がり、フラット化し、やがて無へと帰して終焉を迎えます。 

作品制作の手法としては生けた薔薇の花蕾をカメラの写真に収め、Mac コンピュータ上で光(画像)を多重露光の手法で花を彫刻化します。私のなかでは、デジタルの世界でオリジナルの平面画像に、レイヤーを重ね合わせていく事は、アナログカメラの多重露光と同じ手法であり、パピエ・コレと同じ手法のデジタル化、すなわちデジタルフォトコラージュであり、平面画像の立体化であるものとして考えています。

シンメトリー化された画像はもはや花蕾の形を留めず、つまりは「無垢のエロティシズム」として表象しています。

また両端のキャンバスに描かれた左右対称のロールシャッハテストを想起させる樹形図状の模様は、 植物が大地へと深々と根を張る様を表現しています。

“MULTIPLICATION”　The Light sculpture

"Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. " [Genesis 1:28]

The motif of the work is “French Rose buds". The work begins with arranging the rose buds. They are very innocent and have stamens and pistils, which are the reproductive organs of plants for breeding purposes only, which will eventually bloom and pollinate. Flowering flowers attract insects with their fascinating colors and sweet fragrances (it's no coincidence that rose fragrances are used in perfumes) and provide pollination opportunities by providing nectar.  I think it can be described as "innocent eroticism" that transcends human wisdom. "Innocent eroticism" is a desire, life, love, human wisdom, and aesthetic sense that goes beyond the physical body and lurks in the deep psychology of human beings in search of the "eros" that is inherent in oneself. And at the end of it is "Thanatos (ie death)". Digitized flower buds proliferate in their plane cosmology. The proliferation repeats a loop, leads to the infinite universe, flattens, and eventually returns to nothing and ending.

As a method of creating a work, the flower buds of a living rose are captured in a photograph of a camera, and multiple exposures of light (image) are performed on a Mac computer to engrave the flowers. For me, superimposing a layer on an original plane image in the digital world is the same method as multiple exposure of an analog films, and the same method of digitization as Papier Colle, that is, digital photo collage. , I think that it is a three-dimensional imaging of a plane image. Symmetrical images no longer retain the shape of flower buds, in other words  "innocent eroticism."

In addition, the dendrogram-like pattern reminiscent of the Rorschach test drawn on the canvas on both ends expresses how plants are deeply rooted into the earth.

The entire work is sure to convey to viewers the fascination of rosebuds brimming with vitality.
